Lithuania: Decline in industrial activity softens in April

Industrial production declined 9.3% year on year in April (March: -14.9% yoy). April’s softer deterioration was partly driven by a smaller contraction in manufacturing production. In contrast, mining and quarrying output fell at a marginally quicker rate.

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose at a quicker rate of 2.7% in April (March: +1.4% mom), the best result since August 2022. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 18.7%, down from March’s minus 17.2% reading.
