Latvia: Inflation dives to over three-year low in March
Consumer edged up 0.3% from the previous month in March, accelerating slightly from February’s 0.1 increase. A breakdown of the sub-components showed the overall result largely reflected markedly higher prices for clothing and footwear which more than offset lower prices for transport.
Inflation fell to 1.4% in March, from 2.3% in February, marking the lowest reading since November 2016. Meanwhile, annual average inflation ticked down to 2.6% in March from 2.7% in February.
