Korea: Month-ahead business confidence among manufacturing firms improves but remains pessimistic in September
The forward-looking estimate for business confidence among manufacturing firms came in at 82.0 in September, up from August’s 78.0. Despite the uptick, the index remained below the 100-threshold, indicating pessimism among businesses.
The forward-looking estimate for business confidence rose among both export-orientated and domestic demand-orientated firms. This may have happened on the back of the easing of domestic inflation in August, with price pressures set to further ease going forward.
