Kazakhstan: Inflation decreases in August
Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.10% in August over the previous month, a smaller increase than July’s 0.30% rise. August’s result marked the softest rise in prices since July 2018, as lower food prices partially offset higher prices for non-food items.
Inflation came in at 7.0% in August, easing slightly from July’s 7.1%. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 6.2% in August (July: 6.1%).
