Kazakhstan: Inflation hits new high in September
Consumer prices rose 0.40% in September over the previous month, after the 0.47% increase recorded in August. The cooling of price pressures was primarily driven by softer growth in prices for services, as remaining prices grew at similar rates to those of the past month.
Inflation ticked up to 8.9% in September, following August’s 8.7%. September’s reading was the highest inflation rate since October 2016. Annual average inflation rose to 7.7% in September (August: 7.5%).
