Kazakhstan: Inflation broadly stable in May
Consumer prices increased 0.5% month-on-month in May, below April’s 0.9% rise. Behind the moderation was a softer rise in food prices and a drop in services prices.
Inflation was broadly unchanged in May, coming in at 6.7% (April: 6.8%). April’s reading had marked the highest print since January 2018. Meanwhile, annual average inflation edged up to 5.8% in May from April’s 5.7%.
