Kazakhstan: Industrial output growth increases in December
Industrial output gained momentum in December, rising at an annual rate of 3.6% (November: +0.9%). The increase chiefly reflected a nine-month high in manufacturing output growth and a less pronounced fall in water supply. That said, a steeper contraction in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply production capped the overall improvement.
Consequently, annual average growth of industrial production rose to an 18-month high of 4.3% in December from November’s 3.8%, signaling an improving trend in the industrial sector.
