Japan: Industrial production loses momentum in July
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 0.1% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in July, following 1.9% growth in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, the reading for manufacturing softened in July (+0.2% on a month-on-month basis vs +1.9% in June). In contrast, the reading for mining improved in July (+9.2% vs -5.0% in June).
On a year-on-year basis, industrial production rose 4.1% in July, following a 4.9% increase in the previous month.
