Israel: Inflation declines to lowest level since October 2022 in February
Inflation came in at 5.2% in February, down from January’s 5.4%. February’s reading represented the lowest inflation rate since October 2022 but was above market expectations. The reading reflected weaker price pressures for transport and communication, and clothing.
The trend pointed up slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 4.7% in February (January: 4.6%). Meanwhile, core inflation ticked up to 5.0% in February, from the previous month’s 4.9%.
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.49% from the previous month in February, accelerating from January’s 0.31% increase.
