Ireland: Industrial output growth falls to 10-month low in February
Industrial output increased 3.1% in month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in February, which was a deterioration from January’s 9.6% increase. February’s reading was partly due to a deterioration in modern sector output growth. In addition, traditional sector output fell.
On an annual basis, overall industrial production rose 23.1% in February, which was notably better than January’s 20.0% expansion. Accordingly, the trend improved sizably, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 20.1% in February, up from January’s 18.5% reading.
