Ireland: Economic sentiment rises in August
Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 99.7 in August, following July’s 97.4. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy and the highest since January 2026.
In August, sentiment brightened in the industrial sector (+9.9 vs +9.6 in July) and the services sector (+20.5 vs +19.1 in July). On the flipside, sentiment darkened in the construction sector (+8.5 vs +11.5 in July), the retail sector (+5.8 vs +7.2 in July) and among consumers (-19.6 vs -18.0 in July).
