Ireland: Consumer confidence improves in January

Consumer confidence came in at 74.4 in January, up notably from December’s 62.4. January’s result marked the strongest sentiment since February 2022.

Consumers became significantly more upbeat about the current and past state of the economy and of their personal finances.

The reading marked the fourth consecutive improvement, suggesting that private spending may be on the path to recovery as inflation begins to gradually ease.
