Indonesia: Retail sales shrink more quickly in June
Latest reading: Retail sales declined 4.4% in annual terms in June, following a 3.9% fall in the prior month. June’s reading was the weakest since May 2023.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in June worsened for food, beverages, and tobacco (-4.5% in annual terms vs -4.1% in May), motor vehicles, parts and accessories (+11.0% vs +11.1% in May), automotive fuels (-7.9% vs +0.4% in May), information and communication equipment (-25.5% vs -18.4% in May) and cultural and recreation goods (-8.5% vs +0.1% in May).
