Hungary: Economic sentiment increases in July
Latest reading: Economic sentiment went up to 104.5 in July, following June’s 101.0. The latest reading was above the long-term average of 100 and the highest since February 2022, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
In July, sentiment brightened in the industrial sector (-1.6 vs -8.1 in June), the retail sector (-9.1 vs -9.4 in June) and among consumers (+1.3 vs -1.0 in June). However, sentiment darkened in the construction sector (-23.8 vs -22.3 in June) and the services sector (-12.8 vs -8.4 in June).
