Guatemala: Inflation declines to a two-year low in February
Inflation fell to 3.3% in February, coming in below January’s 3.8% and marking the lowest inflation rate since February 2022. Looking at the details of the release, the decline was broad-based with softer increases in prices for food and alcoholic beverages, and housing and utilities.
Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation declining to 5.2% in February (January: 5.7%).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.14% in February over the previous month, picking up from the 0.03% increase seen in January. February’s figure marked the highest reading since October 2023.
