Guatemala: Inflation moderates in May
Consumer prices increased 0.19% from the previous month in May, below the 0.71% increase seen in April. May’s result marked the softest reading since February. This came on the back of a notable drop in housing prices only partially offsetting a strong uptick in food prices.
Inflation came in at 1.8% in May, below April’s 1.9%. In addition, the trend pointed down mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 2.6% in May (April: 2.8%).
