Guatemala: Economic activity loses momentum in May
Latest reading: Economic activity rose 3.7% in annual terms in May, following a 4.5% rise in the prior month. May’s reading was the weakest since February 2025.
According to the Bank of Guatemala (Banguat), growth was mainly explained by an increase in activities related to trade and vehicle repair; manufacturing industries; agriculture, livestock, forestry and fishing; real estate activities; and financial and insurance activities.
