Greece: Inflation eases in July from the prior month
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices increased 2.7% in annual terms in July, following a 3.9% rise in the previous month. July’s reading was the weakest since October 2025.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.4% on a year-on-year basis vs +2.7% in June), transportation (+4.6% vs +4.8% in June), housing and utilities (+8.8% vs +10.5% in June), recreation (+1.9% vs +4.0% in June) and restaurants and hotels (+4.2% vs +6.4% in June).
Meanwhile, consumer prices increased 3.4% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 4.4% increase in the previous month.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices were down 1.44% in July in month-on-month terms, following a 0.30% rise in the previous month.
