Ghana: Inflation drops to near eight-year low in May
Consumer prices rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.78% from the previous month in May, slowing down from April’s 1.54% increase. May’s result largely reflected slower price growth for housing and utilities and for transport.
Inflation came in at 7.5% in May, down from April’s 8.5% and marking the lowest level since August 2013. Consequently, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 10.0% in May (April: 10.3%).
