Germany: Economic sentiment rises in July
Latest reading: Economic sentiment went up to 92.7 in July, following June’s 91.6. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In July, sentiment brightened in the industrial sector (-13.0 vs -13.4 in June), the services sector (+4.1 vs +2.4 in June), the retail sector (-25.8 vs -29.7 in June) and among consumers (-13.8 vs -14.6 in June). In contrast, sentiment worsened in the construction sector (-14.3 vs -14.2 in June).
