France: Harmonized inflation falls to near three-year low in March
In March, consumer prices rose 0.1% after flatlining in February, according to a second release by the Statistical Institute (INSEE). Higher prices for tobacco and manufactured products were partly offset by lower energy prices.
Similarly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.1% after being stable in February, while harmonized inflation came in at 0.8% (February: 1.6%), the lowest print since July 2017. Meanwhile, annual average harmonized inflation was steady at 1.3%.
