France: Industrial activity stabilizes in May
Industrial output flatlined on a month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in May, improving from April’s 0.3% decrease. The softer drop came on the back of an improvement in manufacturing and mining and quarrying output.
On an annual basis, industrial output fell 0.4% in May, moderating somewhat from April’s 0.6% fall. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at a one-year low of 1.0% in May, down from April’s 2.5% reading.
