France: Industrial output rebounds in June
Industrial production expanded 0.5% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in June (May: -0.4% mom). June’s figure was largely driven by a rebound in manufacturing output. In contrast, mining and quarrying output growth lost steam compared to the previous month.
On an annual basis, industrial production rose 7.1% in June, which was notably below May’s 20.5% expansion. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 3.6% in June (May: +2.1%). This signals an improving trend in the industrial sector.
