Finland: Harmonized inflation decreases in December
Harmonized inflation came in at 8.8% in December, which was down from Novembers 9.1%. The decline was largely broad-based, with reduced price pressures recorded for food and non-alcoholic beverages, transportation, and housing and utilities.
That said, the trend pointed up, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 7.2% in December (November: 6.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation was stable, coming in at November’s 9.1% in December.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.37% over the previous month in December, swinging from the 1.16% rise logged in November. December’s result marked the weakest reading since April 2020.
