Finland: Inflation increases to over one-year high in March
Consumer prices increased 0.24% in March over the previous month, moderating from February’s 0.36% increase. Looking at the details of the release, the moderation was broad-based, with lower price pressures recorded for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, transportation, as well as for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, prices for recreation and culture dropped.
Inflation came in at 1.3% in March, up from February’s 0.9%. March’s result marked the highest inflation rate since April 2019. Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation remaining at February’s 0.4% in March.
