Finland: Inflation comes in at highest level since October 2012 in September
Consumer prices rose 0.31% in September over the previous month, accelerating from the 0.23% increase recorded in August. Looking at the details of the release, food and non-alcoholic beverages prices rose at a quicker pace in September compared to the previous month, while price pressures for transportation dropped.
Inflation came in at 2.5% in September, up from August’s 2.2%. September’s figure represented the highest inflation rate since October 2012. Annual average inflation rose to 1.4% in September (August: 1.2%). Lastly, harmonized inflation rose from 1.8% in August to 2.1% in September.
