Finland: Inflation eases in June from May
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices increased 2.7% in annual terms in June, following a 2.8% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+0.8% in annual terms vs +1.2% in May), transportation (+6.6% vs +7.5% in May) and recreation (+1.3% vs +2.0% in May). In contrast, there were higher price pressures for housing and utilities (+3.8% vs +2.3% in May) and restaurants and hotels (+2.1% vs +1.8% in May).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 2.1% on a year-on-year basis in June, unchanged from the previous month’s reading.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices were down 0.37% in June on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.54% rise in the previous month.
