Finland: Economic sentiment rises to five-month high in June
Economic sentiment rose to 87.3 in June from May’s 84.6. June’s result marked the strongest sentiment since January. That said, the index remained entrenched below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a downbeat near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment in the construction and retail sectors as well as among consumers. Moreover, confidence returned in the services sector. Meanwhile, sentiment in the industrial sector worsened.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index decreased in June.
