Euro Area: Unemployment rate remains stable in July
Latest reading: In July, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 6.4% for the second consecutive month, coming in slightly above market expectations and remaining close to historical lows.
Among the eurozone’s largest economies, unemployment was stable in France, Germany and Italy, while it declined in Spain and increased in the Netherlands.
Significant disparities in labor market conditions between members persist: Finland was the economy with the highest unemployment rate in July (10.5%), followed by Spain (10.0%). At the other end of the spectrum, Malta (3.5%) and Slovenia (3.5%) had the lowest unemployment rates.
