Euro Area: Economic sentiment eases in November
Sentiment in the Eurozone dipped to 117.5 in November from 118.6 in October. The index therefore remained comfortably above its long-run average of 100. Consumers grew considerably less confident in November. On the flip side, sentiment in the retail trade and construction sectors improved, while the industry and services sectors registered a stable level of confidence. Moreover, employment expectations strengthened. Meanwhile, selling price expectations continued to increase markedly, reaching a new all-time high in all sectors.
In terms of specific countries, sentiment increased the most in France, and it also gained strength in Italy, although it dropped considerably in Spain and to a lesser extent in Germany and the Netherlands.
