Estonia: Inflation jumps to five-month high in February
Consumer prices rose 0.5% over the previous month in February, following a 0.4% month-on-month decrease at the outset of the year and marking the first increase in six months. A breakdown by components provided by Statistics Estonia showed that higher prices for clothing and footwear, food and non-alcoholic beverages, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco led the upturn.
Inflation jumped to a five-month high of 2.0% in February, from 1.6% in January. Meanwhile, annual average inflation remained stable at a 32-month low of 2.2% in February.
