Estonia: Economic sentiment hits highest reading since August 2023 in March
Economic sentiment rose to 83.3 in March from February’s 81.9. March’s result marked the best reading since August 2023. As a result, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected healthier sentiment in the industrial, retail and construction sectors. Moreover, confidence in the services sector strengthened in March. Finally, consumer confidence increased in March.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index rose in March.
