Ecuador: Inflation falls to over two-year low in November
Inflation came in at 1.5% in November, which was down from October’s 1.9%. November’s reading represented the lowest inflation rate since October 2021. The sharper fall was largely due to slower growth in prices for transportation. In addition, price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased at a slower rate. Moreover, prices for restaurants and hotels grew at a more subdued pace.
Annual average inflation edged down to 2.4% in November (October: 2.6%).
Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.40% over the previous month in November, a sharper drop than October’s 0.18% fall. November’s result marked the weakest reading since July 2020.
