Ecuador: Inflation ebbs in July from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 1.4% in annual terms in July, following a 1.7% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were milder price pressures for food (-0.7% on a year-on-year basis vs -0.2% in June) and non-food (+2.0% vs +2.2% in June). In contrast, price pressures were higher for services in July (+1.3% vs +0.7% in June).
Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.09% in July in month-on-month terms, following a 0.79% increase in the prior month.
