Denmark: Manufacturing activity rebounds in January
Manufacturing output returned to growth in seasonally-adjusted month-on-month terms in January, coming in at 2.2% and contrasting December’s 1.1% decline. Looking at the details of the release, January’s upturn was largely due to a quicker expansion in the manufacture of non-durable goods.
On an annual basis, manufacturing output rose 8.7% in seasonally-adjusted terms in January, which was above December’s 8.3% increase. Consequently, annual average manufacturing production growth rose to 9.2% in January (December: 8.9%). This signals an improving trend in the manufacturing sector.
