Denmark: Business confidence falls to 11-month low in January and turns pessimistic
Business confidence took a hit in in the first month of the year, dropping to minus 1.0 in January from plus 5.0 in December. Consequently, the index fell below the 0-point threshold, indicating pessimism among businesses for the first time since February 2021.
January’s downturn was due to firms’ views regarding order backlogs souring markedly and production expectations moderating notably. Additionally, views over finished good stocks turned pessimistic in January.
