Czech Republic: Inflation steady in August
Consumer prices increased 0.1% from the previous month in August, down from July’s 0.4% increase. Data released by the Czech Statistical Office (CSO) revealed that August’s uptick was mainly driven by higher prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco, and housing and utilities.
Meanwhile, inflation was unchanged at July’s 2.9% in August. Thus, it remained fractionally below the upper bound of the Central Bank’s 1.0%–3.0% tolerance range. Lastly, annual average inflation held steady at 2.6% in August.
