Czech Republic: Inflation picks up in April from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 2.5% on a year-on-year basis in April, following a 1.9% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were higher price pressures for housing and utilities (+1.2% on a year-on-year basis vs +1.0% in March), food and non-alcoholic beverages (+5.2% vs +3.3% in March), transportation (+8.7% vs +5.5% in March) and recreation and culture (+3.4% vs +2.5% in March).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.49% in April on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.60% rise in the prior month.
