Czech Republic: Industrial output growth accelerates in December
Industrial output grew 4.0% year on year in working-day adjusted terms in December, which was above November’s 0.5% increase. Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing output growth eased, while production decreased at a softer pace for mining and quarrying. Meanwhile, output in the electricity, gas and steam sub-sector contracted at a notably softer pace.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, factory output increased 0.2% in December (November: +3.1% mom). Meanwhile, the trend strengthened, with the annual average growth in industrial production coming in at 1.7% in December, following November ‘s 1.2%.
