Czech Republic: Economic sentiment improves in February
The economic sentiment indicator, published by the Czech Statistical Office (CSO), rose to 99.2 in February from 97.6 in January.
Consumer confidence strengthened in February, with the index increasing to 91.7 from 91.4 in January. The rise mainly reflected a drop in the number of households expecting a worsening in the overall economic situation over the next twelve months.
Meanwhile, the business confidence index increased to 100.7 from January’s 98.8. The result came on the back of rosier sentiment in the industry, construction and selected services sectors more than offsetting weaker confidence in the trade sector.
