Cyprus: Industrial production accelerates in May
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 2.5% on a calendar-adjusted year-on-year basis in May, following a 1.5% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, the reading for manufacturing improved in May (+3.1% in calendar-adjusted year-on-year terms vs +0.7% in April). In contrast, readings softened for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (+1.4% vs +8.3% in April) and mining and quarrying (+3.5% vs +4.5% in April).
In calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production was stable in May, following a 0.1% increase in the previous month.
