Cyprus: Industrial production loses momentum in April
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 1.6% in calendar-adjusted year-on-year terms in April, following 2.5% growth in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, the reading for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply softened in April (+6.9% on a calendar-adjusted year-on-year basis vs +19.0% in March). In contrast, readings picked up for manufacturing (+0.9% vs -0.3% in March) and mining and quarrying (+4.5% vs +2.6% in March).
In calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production rose 0.1% in April, following a 1.6% increase in the prior month.
