Cyprus: Economic sentiment eases in December
Economic sentiment fell to 104.5 in December from November’s 105.2. However, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected dampened sentiment in the construction and services sector. Meanwhile, sentiment in the retail sector was stable in the surveyed month, while sentiment in the industrial sector strengthened. Finally, consumer confidence improved in December.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened, while the economic uncertainty index improved in December.
