Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 104.4 in July, following June’s 103.9. The latest reading was above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
In July, sentiment brightened in among consumers (-7.8 vs -9.9 in June). In contrast, sentiment darkened in the industrial sector (-1.4 vs -0.4 in June), the construction sector (+5.7 vs +7.7 in June), the services sector (+11.9 vs +14.3 in June) and the retail sector (+0.4 vs +1.4 in June).
