Costa Rica: Inflation stabilizes in July
Latest reading: Consumer prices declined 0.3% on a year-on-year basis in July, unchanged from the previous month’s reading. July’s reading was the strongest since June 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-3.4% in annual terms vs -3.7% in June) and housing (-0.6% vs -0.8% in June). In contrast, price pressures reduced for transportation in July (+4.0% vs +4.3% in June).
Lastly, consumer prices declined 0.47% in July in month-on-month terms, following a 0.71% increase in the previous month.
