Costa Rica: Economic activity accelerates in May
Latest reading: Economic activity increased 2.3% on a year-on-year basis in May, following 1.8% growth in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in May improved for agriculture, forestry and fishing (-0.1% on a year-on-year basis vs -1.7% in April), manufacturing (-1.8% vs -3.9% in April), information and communication (+4.3% vs +3.0% in April), the construction sector (+6.7% vs +6.6% in April) and domestic trade (+3.0% vs +2.9% in April).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, economic activity increased 0.7% in May, following a 0.5% fall in the prior month.
