Colombia: Inflation accelerates in June from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 6.1% in annual terms in June, following a 5.8% increase in the previous month. June’s reading was the strongest since July 2024.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were higher price pressures for housing and utilities (+5.0% in annual terms vs +4.5% in May) and food and non-alcoholic beverages (+6.8% vs +6.0% in May). Finally, the change in restaurants and hotels prices was the same as in the prior month (+9.6% in June and May).
Meanwhile, core consumer prices rose 6.5% on a year-on-year basis in June, stable from the previous month’s reading.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.39% in June in month-on-month terms, following a 0.47% rise in the previous month.
