Colombia: Economic activity growth gains momentum in January
Economic activity grew 1.6% year on year in January (December: +0.1% yoy). Looking at the details of the release, January’s upturn was largely due to improvements in the agriculture and services sectors.
On a monthly basis, economic activity grew 2.2% in seasonally adjusted terms in January, significantly above December’s 0.2% uptick and marked the best result since September 2021. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at 0.4%, down from December’s 0.6%.
