Chile: Inflation accelerates in June from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 4.3% on a year-on-year basis in June, following a 3.9% rise in the prior month. June’s reading was the strongest since September 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+4.2% in annual terms vs +2.5% in May) and housing, utilities and fuel (+4.3% vs +4.2% in May). In contrast, price pressures reduced for transportation in June (+8.6% vs +10.1% in May).
Meanwhile, core consumer prices increased 3.1% in annual terms in June, following a 2.9% increase in the previous month.
Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.02% in June in month-on-month terms, following a 0.17% rise in the previous month.
