Chile: Business confidence increases in August
Latest reading: Business confidence index went up to 48.2 in August, following July’s 43.6. The latest reading was below the threshold of 50 that separates optimistic from pessimistic sentiment.
In August, firms grew more optimistic about the retail sector (+53.1 vs +50.9 in July), the construction sector (+34.4 vs +33.0 in July), the industrial sector (+45.0 vs +44.9 in July) and the mining sector (+61.4 vs +41.7 in July).
